At the DCOC, we emphasize restoring the body's soft tissues to their natural resting length, thus promoting healing and diminishing pain.
Therapeutic massage and chiropractic manipulation go hand in hand. Muscles and joints are intimately related (they are attached). Muscles contract to move bones. Tight, adhered or spastic soft tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments) can perpetuate or contribute to painful conditions. Injured or imbalanced soft tissues adversely affect body alignment and mechanics, entrapping nerves to cause pain. Tight or spasmed soft tissues impair blood flow, choking off the exchange of nutrients and waste products thereby interfering with the healing process.
